Renewables
As we continue to invest in renewables to aid our journey to become a Net Zero nation, the sector becomes increasingly buoyant – and diverse in its technologies to help us lower carbon across our energy provision.
Each technology, however, has a very different set of requirements when it comes to lighting. Some involve hazardous substances, some require extreme durability for challenging environments, and some need to be compact and efficient to effectively light tight and remote spaces for long periods of time.
In each case – we have the precise expertise to support various clients within the renewables sector.
Why choose Ecolighting Systems?
We’re specialists in lighting for highly-regulated industries with the most stringent safety and compliance standards – including Renewables. Whether its hazardous area lighting, or the best products to give lasting durability – we are the ideal partner to advise, consult, design, and deliver the right solution for you.
We also choose partners whose products feature energy-efficient technologies, improving performance while minimising energy usage.
Our experience
We’re experienced in designing and delivering optimised systems for the following renewable scenarios and their unique qualities.
Hydrogen Facilities
Hydrogen is a chemical element that’s highly combustible with a low ignition point – a double threat that makes it highly explosive. For any facility that produces, handles, stores, or transports hydrogen, they must adhere to extensive safety regulations to minimise the risk of combustion – and this is especially true for lighting.
Energy Centres (Energy from Waste plants)
The reaction that takes place in EFW plants requires heat and moisture as well as other numerous chemical reactions to convert the waste to energy. Such technology is often used in District Heating systems, meaning a key part of infrastructure to fuel thousands of buildings, from one plant.
Not only does the correct lighting solution have to be sensitive to the reactions taking place, but it also be able to withstand high temperatures, a high moisture environment, and reliably provide uniform visibility 24 hours a day.
Windfarms
Lighting solutions for windfarms – whether on shore or off shore – require high durability and vibration resistance to withstand the extreme conditions and vibrations of turbine technology. The complexity of turbines and the dangers facing those that work on them at great height, means that investing in the best products can make a tangible difference to ongoing maintenance, and the safety of teams.
