Reviving Rosebank Distillery

Case Study

Rosebank Distillery, located in Falkirk, Scotland, was once celebrated for its unique Lowland single malt whisky. Established in 1798, the distillery gained a loyal following for its floral and delicate flavour profile, characterized by a unique triple distillation process. However, Rosebank ceased production in 1993, leaving a void in the whisky market and a gap in the hearts of whisky enthusiasts.

In 2017, the revival of Rosebank Distillery was initiated by Ian Macleod Distillers, a family-owned company with a strong portfolio in the whisky sector.

The lighting scheme and layout was created by Light Medium, a leading lighting design and consultancy company, based in Edinburgh.

Ecolighting Systems were privileged to supply the lighting to SPIE / DALKIA for the MashTun and Washback areas.

The Sammode Jamin tubular light fittings were instrumental in this design, offering uniform illumination that minimises harsh shadows.

The collaboration demonstrated Ecolighting Systems’ commitment to innovative design solutions, ensuring that both functionality and ambiance were prioritised in the final implementation.
