Lighting provision for Peel Ports

Case Study

The Challenge

Sometimes we are approached by a client who simply wants help with selecting the right product for a predesigned lighting scheme. And that was the case for client Peel Ports who were working with one of our partners, Southgate Lighting.

Peel Ports are responsible for a number of ports across the UK. Large sites, with a multitude of buildings with different functions, means lighting requirements are numerous and diverse. Ecolighting are experienced across a variety of sectors, including industrial, which meant that we were confident that we’d have the required expertise, whatever the setting. For this job, the client required Zone 1 fittings for a large grain storage area.

The solution

We advised the client on a number of options that would be suitable for this area. Knowing that the client wanted to design their own lighting, we provided the relevant specifications and files to enable them to do just that.

The selected Schuch products, ordered at scale, are explosion-proof, are incredibly efficient with long life spans at extreme temperatures, have a colour index suitable for nearly all plant locations, and most importantly are designed to suit Zone 1 Hazardous areas.

Simon Taylor, Founder of Ecolighting Systems said:

“From full product selection, lighting design, through to installation and aftercare – we can work around client needs to provide a service that suits them. In this case, we were able to support the client to find the very best products on the market, suited to the space and conditions of the site.”
