Challenge:

A leading distillery group, based in the North of Scotland, sought to reduce the energy consumption of their lighting systems for several new bonded warehouses on their site. The client wanted a solution that would offer significant power savings while still providing optimal lighting conditions in these critical storage areas.

Solution:

Ecolighting Systems with Schuch, a trusted lighting manufacturer,  developed a tailored solution for the distillery’s requirements. Schuch created a highly efficient, low-wattage Zone 2 linear LED fitting, specifically designed to meet the stringent demands of the warehouse environment.

Key Features:

• Low Wattage Design: The custom LED fittings consume only 14 Watts of power, significantly lower than the existing Zone 2 LED fittings.
• Zone 2 Safety Compliance: The fittings were developed in accordance with the necessary safety standards for hazardous areas, ensuring both performance and compliance.
• Energy Efficiency: Despite the reduced wattage, the new LED fittings did not compromise on light output, delivering the required illumination for the bonded warehouses.

Results:

The new LED lighting solution delivered impressive results:

1. 75% Reduction in Power Consumption: The power usage of the lighting system was reduced by an outstanding 75% compared to the previous Zone 2 LED fittings.
