Bruichladdich Distillery Exterior Lighting
Case Study
Bruichladdich Distillery, on the wonderful Island of Islay, has been producing Whisky, and more recently Gin, since 1881. Brands include Port Charlotte and Botanist Gin. Following on from the supply of Atex lighting for their warehouses, Scott Lindsay of Bruichladdich , asked us to assist in the lighting of the building exteriors and large billboard . These structures are iconic and integral parts of the Bruichladdich brand and the lighting had to enhance the building features while subtly integrating with the surrounding village. At this time to main street lighting is still SON so we proposed removable light filters which deliver a warm orange light but can be removed if the street lighting is upgraded to a whiter LED source.
