Story Rail required efficient and effective lighting for their inspection pits at the Carlisle facility. The lighting needed to enhance visibility for engineers working underneath rail carriages, ensuring both safety and productivity.

The Solution

Schuch supplied an innovative asymmetric and recessed lighting fitting designed to be mounted directly into the side walls of the pit. This installation approach kept the fixtures out of the way of workers and equipment, while also ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.

The Results

Thanks to the asymmetric light distribution, a significant amount of light was directed upward toward the underside of the carriages, significantly improving visibility for engineers during inspections and maintenance. The solution delivered a well-lit, safer, and more efficient work environment.
