Tanker Loading Lighting Upgrade

Case Study

Client: Leading Scotch Whisky Producer

Location: Scotland

Sector: Food & Beverage / Industrial Lighting

Overview

A key player in the Scottish whisky sector required a lighting upgrade at their tanker fill station, a critical part of their production and logistics operations. The fill station operates 24 hours a day, necessitating a solution that would enhance visibility, ensure safety, and optimise energy consumption.

Challenge

  • Improve illumination levels for safe and efficient operations

  • Support continuous 24/7 activity with durable, low-maintenance fittings

  • Deliver energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact

  • Operate in a Zone 2 hazardous area environment

  • Minimise local light pollution in surrounding areas

Solution

To meet the client’s requirements, Ecolighting Systems developed a custom lighting scheme in collaboration with Glasgow-based contractor McArthurs Renewables. The system employed Zone 2-rated LED high bays from the Schuch nD8300 range.
