During the process of whisky production a critical component/ ingredient is malt. As part of the preparation, barley is germinated in a kiln which has a high temperature, typically 80 degrees  and high moisture atmosphere. To improve energy efficiency the market increasingly demands LED lighting and, to date, normal LED fittings fail after a short period of time in the aforementioned atmosphere.
